So let's hear from this inspirational mum of two how she did it!

What was your lifestyle like before you started at The House of SK-1?

Other than running around after the kids I was pretty much inactive! I didn’t do any form of exercise. and in hindsight, now I have the knowledge, my Diet was terrible! Although I didn't fully realise it at the time.  I pretty much ate what I want when I wanted, I'd finish the kids food, eat chocolate or ice cream in an evening…..too much of it and too often.  The meals I prepared for the family were always meat and veggies but I used sauces which I now know weren't healthy!

When did you become unhappy and decide to lose weight?
What was it like to start at the House of SK-1 ?

Well the fear of walking through the door for the first  time has been the hardest thing for me and even just answering that initial phone call with Ski and L was nerve racking! They put me quickly at ease though and were very motivating and reassured me that my lack of fitness and ability would not be a problem at all.

My first session was unreal! Out of this world.........but HARD HARD Work!, there's nothing I can compare it to when I try to explain to people what it's like at the House, it just really is something on its own which you have to experience.

I couldn’t do half the stuff that was in the room but I give it a good go!! And for everything I couldn't do there was a scaled alternative, which helps you build strength and technique to work towards getting there.

One of the veterans (Nat Kazanchi) came over to me and said "ignore what everyone else is doing, slow it down Emma and do it right"and that piece of advice stuck with me as I had watched Nat train and she was just awesome!

It was exciting and tiring at the same time and it left me wanting another go to try and do better!!

The housemates and the coaches were amazing, so welcoming and friendly, my first impression was that they are like a little cult in a very positive sense, there's a strong sense of respect, support and encouragement with everyone.

Emma here with Kelly Morris and Richelle Richards. her team mates in the House of SK-1 Lockdown #2 challenge. Emma took part in this challenge after just 9 weeks training at the house, a gruelling 2 hour challenge which her team successfully escaped within the 2 hour limit!

What has your experience been like on the plans run by The House of SK-1?

They have been absolutely fantastic! I've done 2 now, one for 8 weeks in January which was a shred plus a lifestyle plan and I have just completed the 4 week summer shred.

​

The knowledge I now have on what is in food that I once though was healthy and also on what my body actually doesn’t need (that I thought it did) has been invaluable.

I've always been very sceptical about diets and especially concerned about restrictive diets, however I have now learned about the right food, what my body needs and what it actually feels like to be so healthy!

The plans are tailored so you find your blueprint that works for your body and it’s a massively enjoyable experience, I couldn't wait to jump back on the next one!

The energy and buzz at The house is contagious and so motivating and you learn sooooo much about your own body! Ive never felt so well in my life! My skin has cleared right up, my energy levels are through the roof, i feel lean and toned and I definitely don't feel restricted.......how can you when you can have Fuel's clean shortbread and cake?! 

​Can you summarise the impact it has had on you? And how life has changed?

Its been an amazing experience, my confidence has gone through the roof, people keep telling me how amazing I look and I don’t know how to take it as its happened so fast, I'm not used to it at all!

​

My relationship with my children has benefited so much, I'm running around with them all the time now and not gassing out! I actually love trampolining with them now......it made me feel young again!! Im so full of energy and Im a fit mum running around with my kids, this is priceless to me.

​

Another massive change is that I feel like I've found me again, I'm not just a mum ….im me and im doing something for myself, I suppose I had got a little lost.

​

New friendship, A great bunch of people have come into my life in short space of time and we all have something in common.

​

I literally feel like a different person and my kids and husband are over the moon with the positive impact it has had on me.

​What have been your keys to success?

Emma celebrating successfully completing Lockdown 2 with her team mates! 

I started out training 3 times a week and now train 4/5 times a week at The House of SK-1 now, I have been really consistent though training each week since I started, I also tried to apply the principles of what I have learned doing the plans to my life when I wasn't being managed, although the treats did creep back in!

​

The motivation and the energy at The House are key, You feed off the energy and The House atmosphere and coaches really motivate you to push…….i would never have achieved this at a normal gym, I would have got bored and quit by now, but I'm always hungry to achieve something at the house and its different every day! so there's no chance I can get bored!

​

I have really focused this year and have really wanted to make a change, and once I make a decision I do tend to fully commit, First of all I wanted to lose the weight mainly but now I have so many goals! because of the house I am now focusing more on strength and technique goals, I am determined to get that bar muscle up this year! I have just nailed the kipping pull ups which I'm buzzing about!

My Husband and Kids being behind me and so supportive every step of the way, my husband was actually so impressed  with the speed of my progress he has started to train at The House of SK-1 himself now too, so its something we both love!

​

Sense of achievement, it is hard work no matter how you fit you are, so when you complete a session it’s a sense of achievement and you own that….you get to walk away and say….yeah I did that and it leaves you wanting to go back for more!

​

Feeling so goof in my body now just spurs me on to get more, I have just trusted the coaches and the plans and done as suggested to the best of my ability, I'm just so hungry for more

​

Also mixing up my training partners as you always work harder when training with someone new and it takes you out your comfort zone!

​

To anyone who is thinking about starting at the house of SK-1, Don’t be afraid, step into the unknown because it will be the best thing you ever do!

Id become my most unhappy in Summer 2016, none of my clothes fit anymore and I didn't feel good in any outfits with my body how it was. Rob (my husband) had tried to tempt me to go to the gym with him but I just wasn't interested, the thought of going to a normal gym just did nothing for me and I knew I wouldn't be motivated to do it. 

Around Xmas time My weight was affecting me so much mentally that it was starting to affect my relationship with my husband, so enough was enough, I saw the advert for the house of SK-1 January plan, read Alice’s transformation story and I just thought, this is the one!
